Whilst we acknowledge the value of a mentally healthy workplace that organisations may espouse, the reality of workplaces are often at a disconnect with the values and the attitudes of supervisors and middle management’s response to an employee’s experience of a traumatic event.
The Trauma Recovery Centre has developed specialised programs for all types of organisations ranging from first responders to workplaces with staff that have experienced either a workplace or personal traumatic event.
Research has identified that workplace culture/stigmatisations of mental health and the inability of management to identify basic psychological dysfunction can alter the trajectory (from dysfunction) and the subsequent recovery of a person’s experience of a traumatic event.
The Trauma Recovery Centre aims to educate and de-stigmatise mental health to all levels of management to better support and better understand the mechanisms involved following the exposure to a traumatic event. This is imperative to address the duty of care within organisations to promote wellbeing for all of their employees and open discussions to increase the awareness of mental health in the workplace.
The programs are specifically designed and we work with your organisation to collaboratively address issues that are impacting on the capacity to support staff and ensure engagement and connection that ultimately result in staff feeling valued during their recovery and therefore lessen the impact on the workplace (and absenteeism).
